New video to help farmers with climate change

With the support of CCFD, PELUM Kenya produced a video to share stories of how farmers are adapting to climate change. In this excerpt on our YouTube channel, pastoralists from the Rift Valley talk about pasture management and harvesting.

Working hard to stop GMOs

PELUM Kenya has been busy trying to stop GMOs from being adopted in the country:

- It created and aired a television documentary in March to inform people of biosafety laws, good alternatives to GMOs and the campaigning work the group has been doing
- It is developing a manual on seed security and the problems with GMOs
- It secured an article in a national newspaper on the illegal importation of GMO maize into the country

Indigenous food video

PELUM Kenya recently produced a video showing how growing more indigenous foods could help to improve the country's food security. Here's a short clip. You can see the full video on our YouTube Channel.

Successful food fair

PELUM Kenya, in collaboration with INADES Formation, organised an indigenous food exhibition among the Kamba Community in Kathonzweni Division in February 2010 at which many community members exhibited different types of indigenous foods and value-added indigenous foods.
