Our recent regional workshop taught farmers about ELUM – ecological land use management.
From 6-11 September, 20 farmers from Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda and Zimbabwe came together to learn from trainers and lead farmers we’d previously trained. The training focused on organic conservation agriculture and included:
- Many practical exercises. The farmers built a ferro–cement tank, constructed an A-frame and prepared manure fertiliser - Many field visits, such as to a banana wine processing plant, organic farms and a biogas plant - Teachings on water conservation, agroforestry and integrating animals into the farm
We have created a photo diary of the training.
The training was hosted by CHEMA (Community Habitat Environmental Management), a PELUM Tanzania member. |
