Improving livelihoods Print E-mail

We work to enhance learning and sharing by increasing access to different knowledge and technology.

Facilitation
We help with learning and networking by arranging exchange visits and improving ways of sharing best practices.

Training
We work with our members to determine  learning needs - and then set about arranging training to meet those needs, and widely disseminate the training information, so others can learn from it as well. For example, we recently held a six-day workshop to teach people organic conservation farming techniques.

International Partnerships
We work to bulid partnerships -- at country, regional, continental and international levels -- between farmers, scientists, development workers and policy makers in order to address farmers' needs. We are currently working with others around the world to try to have the UN declare an international year of family farming.

Shared Learning
PELUM thrives on its culture as a learning network, where member organisations, country desks, the regional desk all learn from each other.
